Great scenery but very limited parking, so plan to arrive early! Try the frog lake trail for a moderate hike, and pack plenty of water for any hike you do Full review by AerospaceTravel

The only option in Gilroy is a Hilton Garden Inn, which is fine, but the Courtyard by Marriott in Morgan Hill was very nice and from what I recall closer to the park. I would go with Morgan HIll. There are a couple of other hotel options there as well. There are a number of food options at the Morgan Hill location, including an In and Out Burger across the parking lot, a Starbucks right across the highway, and a number of nice restaurants. The drive to the park is a bit tedious and longer than expected, but it is very nice.
Hello, We are two families with 3 toddler boys, camping in the park for one night. I am interested to know what will be a easy hike to see wild flowers? Any other suggestions for hiking with toddlers?

The camp sites at the park are right by the ranger station and the park HQ. There is a relatively easy and wide trail that goes along the ridge leaving the HQ. I believe it is called the Pine Ridge trail. There are wide fields on either side so if there are wild flowers you will see them. The trial goes on for quite a while and connects to other trails in the park. The nice thing is that you can just walk out as far as you or the toddlers want to go and then turn around and walk back. Most of the other trails, other than the ridge trail start heading off downhill, which means you have to come uphill on the return. Be sure to carry water (and snacks). The trail is on a ridge top and there is little to no shade available. Leave after breakfast and you will be back before lunch. Avoid the afternoons as it can get hot.

Can one drive thru the park? No a. Drive to the main entrance (E Dunne -off Hwy 101) and there is a wooden board that shows some hike trailheads and distances. b. The main entrance ends in a loop of camping sites - so you end up exiting the same road one entered. c. The Dowdy Ranch entrance (off Hwy152) does not connect with the main entrance
