Lake Cave is a magnificent, pristine chamber located deep beneath the earth's surface. Visitors descend a staircase through a spectacular sinkhole called a doline, gazing up at the towering karri trees from the floor of the sunken forest. Inside the cave a tranquil lake reflects the delicate crystal formations that grow from the cave ceiling. Visitors can marvel at the unique 'Suspended Table' formation, which weighs several tonnes and seems to defy gravity as it hovers above the clear lake water. As the guide changes the lights to focus on unique features within the cave, incredible views and silhouettes are etched in the darkness, leaving visitors in awe. Fully guided tours run daily.

Q:
Is the caves able to be done by a bigger person?
A:
The entrance to the cave itself is down some steep steps with low headroom. It is similar to climbing down a step-ladder. I would say there were fewer than a dozen steps though.

Hi, we were there in mid April and the cold inside the cave was very much tolerable, However, this time of the year may be a couple of degrees cooler and hence would recommend making sure the baby is well protected. The other issue is the number of stairs...we are reasonably fit (including 9y daughter) but at the end of the climb back up, we were huffing and puffing despite a few stops to take a breath. Hopefully the person carrying your baby is reasonably fit :-) Its pretty spectacular (Lake Cave) so the climb is well worth it.

There are a lot of steps down and ok for an active 5 year old who doesn't mind walking. A bit much to carry him up and down I should think. There are benches to sit on at intervals down/up. As for in the cave there are more stairs but as you stop and start he could catch his breathe a bit. There was a young boy about 5-6 when I went and he seemed to handle it ok.
Q:
Is the space very confined? I'm referring to as confined as Cu Chi tunnel in Vietnam. A little claustrophobic here.
A:
no it is not small or confined. Should not have a problem with claustrophobia
Q:
Must you wear a specific footwear or are sports shoes or sneakers ok?
A:
best to wear shoes with good soles, maybe sneakers
