We visited Southsea beach yesterday, a mix of stones and sand. The promenade is wonderful, we walked along it from the canoe lake to Clarence pier stopping for coffee and ice creams along the way. Full review by Jan F

Nice pebble beach. Not too busy, plenty to see & nice walk to pier for ice cream. Car parking is a nightmare as ringing a number and trying to register a car took 15mins! Please consider a qr code se… Full review by Gemma M

There are often free parking spaces in the side roads, behind the park. If you are not lucky enough to find one of these, then there is a large public carpark, down near where the Hoover Craft pulls up. It works out cheaper to buy a day ticket.

For approximately 5 months of the year (from end of April I think) dogs are not allowed on most of the main beach, and only allowed in certain areas (for example towards the Eastney end of the beach). You do see people take dogs on the main parts of beach in the summer months but they are not supposed to. (I am a dog owner and live in Southsea).
