The journey up to the observatory is winding, look out for cyclists, but the view from the top of Mt Hamilton is sublime. The 36" telescope of which is open to the public via a guid was what got me … Full review by Ian002

One of the top observatories in California, or may be the whole country. It is located at the peak of mountain Hamilton. It is a little bit hard to reach due to the winding road of route 130. Full review by V3328MYjohnp

Is the entry free or any specific charges? I tried searching at couple of places but couldn't find the information.

Your find all necessary information including opening hours and travel advisories at ucolick. Most activities are free of charge, not sure for the night time visiting tickets though
