Subaru is debuting two specialized flavors of its popular Forester crossover at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show, which runs February 8–17. Between the two, the automaker is pushing the sixth-generation Forester’s envelope of appeal into one familiar segment and one that it’s been conspicuously absent from for some time.

"Since it's introduction, Forester has become synonymous with a special set of DNA that truly make it unique," says Subaru's Alan Bethke.

Subaru presented the new 2025 Forester e-Boxer Hybrid variant in Chicago, as well as the 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid coming to market a bit later.
