Mar 25, 2017 · I just got a new Area 51 and I cannot get the case open. I pull up on the latch at the top but the sides will not come off. Is there some trick that I am missing. From looking at a youtube video, you should just be able to lift up on the latch and pull the side off. That is not happening, is there some other release that needs to be done first?

My conclusions are: R2 is one of the easiest and least proprietary Dell system to upgrade. there is virtually no limit to what ATX motherboard you can use in this case. as long as the board has USB2.0 9 pin header, it will work with FIO to turn on all LED in Windows 10.

May 21, 2015 · I am a new owner of an Area-51 R2 model myself and I am having some trouble removing the right side panel from the case (if viewed from the rear of the case). The security screw was removed and the left panel can be removed easy but I cannot get the right panel to release from the case by using the release latch.

Since Dell desktop motherboards are typically made by MSI - I purchased a new MSI motherboard hoping it would be a "drop in" type arrangement (like the 730x).

Apr 27, 2020 · the top front fan is always called a memory fan as in Area 51 R2. one of the 5 fans you see is likely the liquid pump rpm for the cpu AIO cooler. It should always be fixed at 100%. so you have can 4 physical chassis fans plus one "cpu fan" which is the pump speed (no physical rotating fan blades).
