Beginning in the charming village of Luss, the Beinn Dubh hillwalk features stunning scenery over Loch Lomond and a great vantage point for taking in the rugged Arrochar Alps. The walk unfolds mostly on the grassy hills above Glen Straddle with a pleasant ascent up from Luss, along a ridge.

Beinn Dubh is the name of a horseshoe ridge encircling Glen Striddle. Its eastern arm rises directly from the village of Luss. You haven't climbed Beinn Dubh yet.

Beinn Dubh is the first summit on the Glen Striddle Horseshoe, a fine outing into the Luss Hills. Its 2,106-foot (642 m) summit reveals spectacular views of the island-studded southern reaches of Loch Lomond and north towards the Arrochar Alps, where the characterful, craggy form of the Cobbler takes centre stage.

Starting in Luss, the trail follows the glen, along Luss water, before turning to the right up a steep climb to Coire aa h-Eanachan. From here, follow the ridge round to Beinn Dubh, before starting a steady descent back to Luss.
