You can make the xbox one controller work with Oblivion, I've been using this setup for Morrowind and Oblivion. For some reason it is a bit more janky in Oblivion, but I've tried almost every concievable set up and this is the best.

This is why ive never played morrowind oblivion pc versions despite paying for them and being super excited at all the extra quests and mods to make oblivion like morrowind in places.
