Feb 7, 2011 · First, the copy of Vista is licensed to the original PC, not to a virtual machine; second, since it's an OEM copy and likely in the form of system restore discs it's quite likely locked to the BIOS of the original machine and the virtual machine would not contain the proper ID so it would not install at any rate.

When i got the one from microsoft, In VMware it says: "Could not detect which operating system is in this disc image" It's so weird, Every other website that has a iso image either is malicious or the download takes to long, it sometimes says a decade.

When i started windows 7, it uses the windows vista booting screen, And start up repair comes up and was unable to repair pc, i did command prompt commands but it did not work, And then i did start up repair and it kicked me out of the virtual machine and went to the menu.

May 3, 2011 · I installed virtual machine. First it was fusion 3 from vmware and when it failed tried parallels 6 for mac. After installing virtual machine, installed windows vista ultimate x64 with SP2. After that tried to apply virtual machine' tools that come bundled with virtual machine. Right after installing tools in both cases machine asked me to restart.

The problem is that the hardware in a virtual machine is virtualized and has nothing to do with the actual hardware that is in your computer. So the hardware in the image created from an HP laptop (for example) is not going to match the hardware "in" the virtual machine at all. If Windows will even boot (questionable), it will require activation.

Dec 29, 2021 · The only thing that works is the temporary solution: to reboot the virtual machine and spam F8 and select the "disable driver signature enforcement" EVERY TIME you want to use Vista! That is too much of a hassle and ruins the experience. There has got to be a way to permanently remove the driver verification!
