What I don't get it how you can read One Piece, of all manga, and be mad that jokes can effect the plot. Zoro getting lost and wandering into crazy situations, Luffy getting stuck in a small crevice when his crew needs him, Spandam accidentally calling a Buster Call and Big Mom's entire character are all examples of character specific gags ...

Jun 7, 2023 · Yeah all great valid statements. It makes you wonder why Oda purposefully made Sanji this way, yet One Piece is a very progressive series considering how mainstream it is. Maybe Oda uses Sanji as a tool to voice the bigot side of those issues. Sanji is intended to be shown negative in those situations.

Fire does seem to be remarkably easy to achieve in One Piece, at least as far as attacks using moving objects go. Sanji however stands out the most - with Hell Memories in particular, it’s shown that he’s able to produce fire without the comic book friction other characters (and Sanji’s other techniques) seem to use to create fire.

Sanji is legitimately one of the main reason I hesitate to recommend One Piece to my female friends. Him and Oda's insanely horny female designs. I've literally never talked to any woman that appreciated these aspects and most guys find it mildly annoying, too.
