On the south coast of Islay, outside a wee ruined chapel, you'll find the Kildalton Cross. It was ornately carved in the 8th century and there aren't many in such incredible condition after 1300 years found anywhere in Scotland. If you've ever been to the Holy Isle of Iona, then you might think Kildalton looks familiar, the style is so close to the High Crosses there that it was almost certainly carved by the same artist.
